Results day can be nerve-wracking, but missing your predicted grades doesn’t mean the door to university is closed. UCAS Clearing lets you search for available courses in real time and apply directly to universities with places still open — including many of Leap 2 Learn Bolton’s partner institutions such as Arden University, GBS, and the University of Wolverhampton.

Before results day, prepare a shortlist of alternative courses, have your UCAS ID and Clearing number ready, and write a short script covering your grades, why you want the course, and what makes you a strong candidate. Universities receive thousands of Clearing calls in a single day, so being organised and confident makes a real difference.
